Veterinarian elected to Colorado House of Representatives

A veterinarian will join the ranks of Colorado legislators for the 2021 legislative session.

Karen McCormick, DVM, was elected as state representative for Colorado House District 11 during the 2020 election. The CVMA Board of Directors endorsed Dr. McCormick earlier in 2020.

CVMA is looking forward to having a veterinarian in the Colorado State Legislature who can represent the profession knowledgeably and advocate for animal health and the practice of veterinary medicine.

Dr. McCormick (D) is a veterinarian, small business owner, and mom. She is passionate about Colorado and working for policies that will strengthen the community. Dr. McCormick’s key issues include protecting animal health and ecosystems, advocating for families, expanding access to health care, advancing education, advocating for LGBTQ and reproductive rights, and creating economic opportunity for all. Dr. McCormick will represent Longmont, Lyons, Niwot, and Allenspark as the next state representative for Colorado House District 11.

On behalf of CVMA, congratulations to Dr. McCormick!

CVMA does not endorse any political party.
