State Board of Veterinary Medicine to hold final rulemaking hearing on February 11

State Board of Veterinary Medicine to hold final rulemaking hearing on February 11

The Colorado State Board of Veterinary Medicine has announced a permanent rulemaking hearing on February 11, 2021. Tracking Veterinary Rules is one of the key advocacy activities CVMA performs on behalf of members and the profession in Colorado.

What’s it about?

This final rulemaking is the last step in a year-long process of a mandatory review of the Colorado Veterinary Rules that began in February 2020. The rules have been thoroughly reviewed and reorganized. CVMA represented the interests and concerns of Colorado veterinarians at each step in the process, and worked to ensure that the revised rules are easier to understand and use. The change being made now replaces a summary of the VCPR contained in Rule 1.4 with the actual text of the VCPR from the statute and a citation of the section of the Veterinarians Practice Act, 12-315-104(19), C.R.S.. It also corrects a citation to the statute that was incorrect, 12-315-104(14), C.R.S.
