H. Howells, DVM
H. Howells, DVM followed a winding path before becoming a veterinarian and coach. Prior to veterinary school, she had careers in teaching and music, food service, and hospitality, and she taste-tested a number of other unrelated jobs. Graduating from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010, as a food animal tracker, she worked in small animal general clinical practice in Colorado for the next ten years. After experiencing burn-out and exhaustion first-hand, H. became very interested in issues of wellbeing for veterinary professionals. She resuscitated her dedication to the profession by giving back – coaching other veterinarians, running a support group for veterinarians, and becoming involved in organized veterinary medicine. In 2018, she launched Agents of Change Coaching – a health, life, and team coaching practice with a whole-person approach — to help others weather their challenges with health, career, and work-life balance, while increasing their vitality. She is also a mom, an outdoors enthusiast, and an amateur cook who enjoys sharing good food and wine with others. She is getting back to making music, and feeling more alive again, as she grows closer to living with balance.
